Hi people.
Goodbye Blogger. Hello Wordpress. Goodbye .blogspot. Hello .butterfly.co.ke.
I’m building a new home on Wordpress, a move that I think is long overdue. One I’ve heard some good things about Wordpress, two I have a bit of a teeth pulling history with blogger, three change is always good. So if some time in the next few days you land on Wanjiku and don’t find the palms, do not adjust your monitor. We could do with adjustments to your blogrolls though.
At the same time I’ll be blogging closer home on the .butterfly.co.ke platform. Talk of killing a bird with two stones. Killing two birds with one stone. Which is it? I forget. I’ll take both.
Si you guys know you’re the best. Nuff respect. It’s been 1 year 3 months and160 posts although I doubt some like this one and this one and this one qualify as posts. Your support has been tremendous, your comments have been solid, civil, spot on, hilarious, and some bordering on crazy gone mad. Many a time they leave me in stitches. My journey through….…………. wait am I eulogizing us? Jeez it’s only a shift! Same blogger, same blogthren.
Let’s get outa here.

haya. tuhame basi. i noticed that the butterfly.co.ke blogs load very quickly on my safcom connection so i guess that is an improvement?
Nick that would certainly be an improvement. Tayarisha makao huko wordpress.
I look forward to the house warming! :-)
Thanks Mama Shujaa. See I've already started sweet talking wordpressors to make a nice cosy place for us over there.
Looking forward to the new place...
We shall follow you there now that we know we are the best :-).
I also like those butterfly.co.ke blogs as Nikolas has said, they load really quickly, but so do wordpress blogs compared to blogger.
Shiko, just give us the link and you will find us right there.
I have been gone for a few days, left people reminiscing about farmer's choice narudi napata watu wanahama :( kwani I've been gone that long....Ukihama just give us the new address maybe we will also move to ur new neighbourhood when the sun disappears and time falls on our laps again in winter....
will be waiting for the link *with almost abated breath* :-)
Thanks Tamaku.
Oh yes Mama y'all the best. So far I've only browsed Savvy's on butterfly and didn't pay attention to the speeds but we shall see.
Thanks BP. Link coming soon.
Cee We were waiting for your dossier on sausage smuggling. Welcome back and welcome to the new neighborhood when I finally get there.
Kainvestor thanks. Breath easy though for now. There's such a thing as procrastination and I'm very good at it.
hello... hapi blogging... have a nice day! just visiting here....
Hey, i just arrived and looks like everyone is leaving. After reading some of your latest posts though i also declare following you where ever you going...
Hapi thanks. Quite some info you have on your site.
Edsamich thanks and welcome to blogger. It's not a bad platform. I think my beef with it was kinda self sought coz of tweaking the html.
Ah that move is long overdue, we shall be awaiting you on the other side. I won't lie that commenting on blogger is always a pain cos you have to open another window.
Now to convince akina Rafiki Kenya...........
its long overdue. i stayed in blogger for less than 2 weeks then moved to wordpress. it looks much better than blogger. when are u moving??
http://kenyantykoon.wordpress.com/
Mountainous thanks. We'll come back for akina Rafiki.
Kenyantycoon I'm moving every day! And then something keeps coming up. BTW that's why I'm not even doing the blogroll yet.
Kwani, the wordpress agencies don't deliver keys in time? Been waiting for the address leave alone the warming.
If it takes this long to move, I'm sticking with blogger.
Haiya!! i fear this shiko na haraka yake moved to unfinished house labda haina stima, thats why she cant post the link i guess.
maybe we need to hand over an envelope to someone ....
hehehehe Maualicious, Anon and UrXlnc, procrastination, cold feet and some kinks to be ironed out here and there. In the meantime tuko hapa hapa. Infact let me prepare another post.
Shiko,
Stumbled on your blog last night while looking for a long lost friend.. just goes to show you that serendipity is alive and well. Your take on the hostelry that remained nameless was hilarious. Not to rehash too much on last year's gems what you describe is really the norm. Getting a local joint in Nairobi, where I live, where the facilities are not stomach-churning is a full-time kibarua. Regardless I'd rather be in Mombasa than anywhere else in the world. As for African Safari Club, they should have been
closed down years ago on account of their discriminatory laws. Hope to read more of your postings.
Peace.
