Kenny Who?

A visit to The Intelligensia took me back in the day when we literally grew up with Kenny Rogers in our living rooms. He was a household name and I doubt his songs will ever be forgotten. Thanks Intel for the good memories.

Unfortunately it seems like in matters anti-aging, the gambler rolled his dice and lost. The then hottest old guy got some botched surgery and destroyed his trademark warm looks. He was attempting to look younger. Kenny why? Whatever happened to aging gracefully? Even in his old age he was still one of the best looking men around. Apparently a young wife happened.

It’s actually sad to have dear old Kenny Rogers profiled in the same program as akina Lil Kim, Melanie Griffith and Michael Jackson for surgery gone wrong. Check them all out here.

The socz are mine, and I've read the post already.

Kenny, Kenny, Kenny, why did you do it. Some things are just God-given, you can't just remake them.

Sad sad indeed. I like Kenny Rogers, with the old grandfatherly look. He looks god-awful after!

Besides, when you are famous like that, si people know how you looked like before, so who are we fooling here?

Maua that was fast! And to ruin your party, it was a very very short post. Lol.

Anyway, we still love the guy all the same. And he's still much better than some other characters on that site.

Ciku,

Kumbe wewe pia ni manyanga kama mimi? Lol! My mum had a crush on Kenny Rogers I think when we used to make her mad she used to cope by dreaming of leaving us and disappearing into the sunset with her Kenny! She'll be happy to learn he aged ungracefully!

Lol at Shiko and Tamaku being manyangas! Can't remember the last time I heard that word.

Kenny was trying to turn himself into one too, dont be too harsh on him!

Still love his music myself.....I am an oldie like that!

Tamaku, ati your mum had what? My mum's hero was the coward of the county, and I imagine her telling my dad angeolewa na Kennie if my dad hadn't cornered her, Skeeter Davis would have been her best maid. But she dumped the guy when there was competition with Dollie.

Lolest! I must agree with Maua. . . The way I imagined coward of the county throwing some proper kung fu moves in the last verse! Wah! He just had to be somebody's crush!

Eek! Hadnt checked out the line up. .some freakshow! A few be making Darth Vedar look reeaally good!

Savvy he too was shocked by the results. He regretted the surgery later. Said his new looks and tightness almost drove him crazy. What I don’t understand is when you’re so stinking rich si you can afford the best surgeon in the land surely! The best collagen.

Gosh Maua/Tamaku I’d even forgotten Coward Of The Country! I could only remember the Gambler. My mum I think was all for Skitter Davis and who was this Kenyan born guy? Roger Whitaker? And Jim Reeves. I still remember those vinyl santuris. Tamaku you think these grand ladies had/have fantasies? They sure don’t look it. Maua your mum is now the Manyanga if she listened to Dolly.

Mama I still love his music but I’m sorry to confess I don’t have any. I usually stumble on it once in a while. It seems even Radio don’t play him much any more. Or does it? Sundowner is still around?

Nikolas he went and didn’t know when to grow old, know when to accept it, know when to slow down, know when to run. He didn’t know when to count his years. When you’re old and white haired …….….. ok am having fun with this.

Willpress haki that lineup! Frankenstein should rise and see his brides and grooms. Donatella!

Hey old tymers! I bet if you all had big money you'd probably try to bribe old-age to give you respite.

I remember country music was the first genre of music I ever liked, thanks to the influence of my uncle. And by then I was about seven! Don Williams is all I listened to.

And those vinyl things... I want! Especially those of Franco and Mbilia Bell's music. Yeah, I can listen to those.

Ati he did what?!! Damn! Now, did he even change his voice to match his freaking face? Silly guy that 1. I'm glad he was disappointed too!

Oh and Shiko, sundowner is still on. . .and I have quite the collectio of that old country music. I'm a total fan. :D

Screamer wait, actually i think I meant Don Williams not Roger Whitaker. Which is which! The Vinyl things are making a come back. Be on the look out.

Neema not too bad. Just different. We loved his grandfatherly look although if he read grandfatherly look he might go in for more surgery.

aaaii Cee hapana. MJ absolutely takes the biscuit! And Lil Kim is hot on his heels. I'd love to see her when she's 50.

Sibbie I fished out sundowner yesterday and had a blast. I rediscovered the 'old music' loving me. Lol. Thanks.

Definately his surgeon went too far with that face tightening procedure, I agree with you his old look was much more dignified

I agree MJ takes the cake and everything. Kenny Rogers now looks like he can't blink without the pain.

I also like that Coward of the County song...of course I used to hear coward of the country.
